Md. Yonous Mondal ... For the Petitioner Mr. Sudipto Panda ... For the State The husband of the petitioner, a contractual employee of the panchayat, expired on 8th May, 2020. The petitioner submits that her husband was working with the panchayat since a considerable period of time and after his death the family is in the verge of starvation. She prays for consideration of her case for appointment on compassionate ground.

The learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer of the petitioner.

It appears that the husband of the petitioner was a contractual employee of the panchayat.

On the death of a contractual employee there is no scope for providing compassionate appointment to the heir of the deceased.

The learned advocate for the petitioner has not been able to produce any law in support of his contention that an heir of a deceased contractual employee is entitled to be appointed on compassionate ground.

In view of the above, no relief can be granted to the petitioner in the instant case.

The writ petition stands dismissed.
