The revisional application praying for quashing in connection with Watgunge Women Police Station Case No.05/2020 under Section 498A/406/34 of the Indian Penal Code read with Section 3 and 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act pending before the leanred Chief Judicial Magistrate, Alipore together with CRAN application being No.1 of 2020 revealing amicable settlement of the dispute between the parties is taken up for hearing.
Learned Advocate appearing for the d-facto complainant submits that the dispute has been settled between the parties and pendency of this case may leave some adverse effect in their mutual understanding.
Learned Advocate appearing for the petitioner adverting to joint compromise application submits that the petitioner has compromised the case with the de-facto complainant, put voluntary
signature in the joint compromise application being CRAN 1 of 2020.
A copy of this revisional application together with compromise application has already been served upon the learned Advocate for the State, who raises no objection against the prayer for compounding the offence.
When the dispute between the parties has been mutually settled between the parties for their good wishes and change of mind set, the Court should not stand on the way. The offence registered in connection with Watgunge Women Police Station Case No.05/2020 dated 15th August, 2020 under Section 498A/406/34 of the Indian Penal Code read with Section 3 and 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act stands compounded, and the impugned offence is quashed. With this direction both CRR 1436 of 2020 along with CRAN 1 of 2020 disposed of.
