The grievance of the petitioner is directed against the failure of the respondent authorities to restore the electricity connection at the premises of the petitioner. Advocate appearing on behalf of the respondent Corporation submits that due to Amphan Cyclone the electricity connection of the petitioner was disrupted but when the personnel of the respondent Corporation had gone to the premises of the petitioner to restore the electricity connection they were resisted by the private respondents.

The private respondents are represented and submits that there should be no interference and/or disturbance on their land.

In view of the fact that the petitioner seeks an essential service which he had already enjoying but had been disrupted due to a natural calamity, I direct the Officer-in-Charge, Pandua Police Station, District - Hooghly being the respondent no. 6 herein to render

necessary police assistance to the respondent Corporation subject to complying with all statutory formalities and upon payment of all necessary dues and expenses exclusively by the petitioner.

I direct the respondent Corporation to restore the electricity connection at the premises of the petitioner upon compliance with all statutory formalities and upon payment of all statutory expenses, if any.

It is made clear that the entire exercise must be completed by the respondent corporation within four weeks from date upon compliance with all statutory formalities by the petitioner.

With the aforesaid directions WPA No. 8227 of 2020 is disposed of.

There shall, however, be no order as to costs. (Ravi Krishan Kapur,J)
