Mr. Sanjib Bandyopadhyay ......for the petitioner Upon hearing learned counsel appearing for the petitioner it appears that the father of the petitioner died in harness on 2nd March, 2020 and an application was made for compassionate appointment on 26th June, 2020.

According to learned counsel, the representation made by the petitioner to the Principal of the concerned College on 6th October, 2020 has not been responded to till date.

WPA 8352 of 2020 is disposed of accordingly with a direction on the Director of Public Instruction, Education Directorate to dispose of the representation within a period of six weeks from date by way of a reasoned order upon hearing all concerned parties including the petitioner.

The petitioner shall be at liberty of making a fresh representation if the petitioner so wishes within a week from date. In that case, the representation shall be dispose of within six weeks from the date of receipt of such representation.

A copy of the reasoned decision shall be given to the petitioner within a week from the date on which such reasoned order is passed.

WPA 8352 of 2020 is disposed of in terms of the above.

Needless to say, if the petitioner is found eligible for compassionate appointment, the concerned respondents shall take expeditious steps after passing of the reasoned order.
