The petitioner undertakes to affirm and stamp the petition as per the Rules within 48 hours of resumption of normal functioning of the court. The petition is taken up through video conference on the basis of such undertaking. The petitioner claims to be the daughter-in-law of the principal accused in a murder case. The petitioner says that she had nothing to do with the alleged assault on the victim. The State says that the case made out is that several persons including the principal accused and this petitioner assaulted the victim that ultimately led to his death. The State says that the present petitioner had a role and it is not as if her name has been included mindlessly. Considering the circumstances which led to the death of the victim, the petitioner's role cannot be ruled out at the

moment. The investigation may also be aided in the event the present petitioner's statement is obtained along with the statements of the other co-accused. The facts do not permit the petitioner to be left free at this stage. CRM 7943 of 2020 is disposed of.
