The petitioner undertakes to affirm and stamp the petition/application as per Rules within 48 hours of resumption of normal functioning of the Court. Subject to such undertaking, the application is taken up for hearing through video conference. Mr. Sourav Ganguly, learned Counsel appearing along with Mr. Aditi Sankar Chakraborty, Ld. A.P.P., for the State has submitted that pursuant to our order dated 18th November, 2020, the Investigating Officer was directed to accompany the petitioner to the office of the Foreigner's Regulations Registration Office at Bengaluru for the renewal of the Registration Certificate and the said office has renewed the Registration Certificate till 24th February, 2021. We took serious exception to the conduct of S.I., Gopal Tamang, Kharibari P.S., Darjeeling for his adamant and indolent attitude for which we feel that he should be properly dealt with and warned.

In view of the aforesaid, we grant bail to the petitioner on personal bond to the satisfaction of the Assistant Sessions Judge,

Siliguri and having regard to the fact that he has already obtained the Registration Certificate, the proceedings may be dropped against him.

Accordingly, the application for bail being CRM 7982 of 2020 is allowed and disposed of.

The report filed by the State is kept with the record. All parties are to act on a website copy of this order on the usual undertaking.
