The writ application is for enforcement of an order dated 24th December, 2019. However, in the course of argument, it is submitted that the petitioner has applied for separate electricity meter and separate water connection from the Bidhannagar Municipality. From the prayer portion, we are unable to find out any such relief being claimed in the writ petition. However, in the event the petitioner has applied for separate electricity meter and separate water connection, the respondent authority shall consider the said applications in accordance with law. The petitioner may get such electricity connection and water supply upon compliance of all required formalities.

We make it clear that the concerned authorities may accept online applications instead of requiring the petitioner to be physically present.

The appeal being MAT 681 of 2020 and the application being CAN 1 of 2020 are taken up as on day's list and disposed of.
