SG CRM 8064 of 2020 In Re. An application for bail under Section 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure in connection with Shyampur Police Station Case No.420 of 2016 dated 19.11.2016 under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.

The petitioner undertakes to affirm and stamp the petition as per the Rules within 48 hours of resumption of normal functioning of the court. The petition is taken up through video conference on the basis of such undertaking. The State says that the trial was proceeding before the lockdown intervened. According to the State, most of the oral evidence is over and it is only because of the lockdown that the trial has been adjourned.

Considering that the trial may, possibly, begin in the next month or so, the prayer for bail is rejected at this stage. CRM 8064 of 2020 is disposed of.
