The petitioner alleges that the private respondents have been disturbing the construction of house by the petitioner under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Scheme.

When the petitioner approached the police with complaint in that regard, it is contended that the police sat tight over the matter.

However, learned counsel for the respondentauthorities files a report authored by the Officer-inCharge of Pathar Pratima Police Station, which categorically indicates that the police have already initiated proceedings on the complaint of the petitioner, culminating in the filing of charge-sheet. It is further stated in the report that the police are keeping a sharp vigil over the matter.

In view of such developments, the police authorities cannot be faulted for their inaction as per the allegation of the petitioner. However, keeping in mind that the petitioner comes from the weaker sections of society, it would be appropriate if the police afford all possible assistance to the petitioner in the matter of construction of the petitioner's house in terms of the aforesaid Housing Scheme.

Accordingly, WPA 8679 of 2020 is disposed of by granting liberty to the petitioner to approach the police authorities in the event of any specific instance of obstruction by the private respondents in the petitioner's construction of house as per the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Scheme. If so approached, the respondent no.3 shall ensure that due protection is given in that regard to the petitioner.

There will be no order as to costs.
