Mr. Tanmay Chowdhury ... For the petitioner. The petitioner claims that the bills raised and submitted on Calcutta University are yet to be paid. Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner was awarded a contract through a tender process. The petitioner sold and delivered various materials to the Calcutta University. The petitioner raised several bills aggregating to a sum of Rs. 87,320/- which remains unpaid by Calcutta University.
Learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that the Calcutta University Authorities are yet to consider and decide the representation made by the petitioner.
None appears for the respondents.
In such circumstances, since the representation made by the petitioner dated February 7, 2020 is yet to be considered and decided, it would be appropriate to request the respondent no. 2 to decide the same in accordance with law. The respondent no. 2 will afford a reasonable opportunity of hearing to the petitioner.
The respondent no. 2 is at liberty to hear such other parties and consult such documents that he deems necessary. He will pass a reasoned order which he will communicate to the petitioner forthwith thereafter. It is expected that the respondent no. 2 completes the entire exercise within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of this order to him.
W.P.A. 8686 of 2020 is disposed of accordingly. The parties shall act in terms of the copy of the order downloaded from the official website of this Court.
