The grievance of the petitioners is that the respondent-authorities are sitting tight over a representation given by the petitioner no.2, the newlyelected Secretary of the Trade Union of employees of the United Bank of India, now merged with the Punjab National Bank, regarding operation of the accounts of the Trade Union the said petitioner.

Learned counsel appearing for the petitioners submits that withholding of such permission is proving to be detrimental to the functioning of the newly elected Trade Union.

Annexure P/5A at page 40 of the writ petition is a copy of the representation given by the petitioner no.2 in that regard to the respondent no.2.

Learned counsel appearing for the respondent-authorities, in his usual fairness, submits that there is no impediment in the representation of the petitioner no.2 being considered, subject to the said petitioner appearing before the respective branches of the Punjab National Bank and furnish necessary documents with regard to his representation, as required by the bank.

As such, there is no use keeping the writ petition pending unnecessarily.

W.P.A. 8779 of 2020 is disposed of by directing the respondent nos.2 and 3 to consider the representation of petitioner no.2, annexed at page 40 of the present writ petition, upon giving a hearing to petitioner no.2. The petitioner no.2 shall furnish all requisite documents, as required by the respondent nos.2 and 3 in that context, for the respondent no.2 to decide on the matter. The respondent nos.2 and 3 shall intimate the petitioner no.2 as regards the documents required to be furnished and the date on which the petitioner no.2 is to meet the said respondents for the purpose of consideration of his representation. Such intimation shall be given as

expeditiously as possible, preferably within a week from date.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent website certified copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all formalities.
