The petitioner undertakes to affirm and stamp the petition as per the Rules within 48 hours of resumption of normal functioning of the court. The petition is taken up through video conference on the basis of such undertaking.

The charge against the petitioner is of violating of seven-year-old girl who has a speech impairment. The State says that the evidence has almost been completed and only the Investigating Officer has to step into the box.

Since the trial has been delayed due to the pandemic over the last few months, the trial court should conclude the trial within six months of the

normal court functioning resuming after the lockdown is lifted.

Considering the material against the petitioner, the prayer for bail is rejected at this stage. CRM 8307 of 2020 is disposed of.
