The matter pertains to permission to be granted for the Durga Puja to be conducted by the appellants. Today is already the chaturthi. At this stage, there is no question of considering the matter pertaining to permission when the puja has to begin in right earnest from tomorrow or the day after. This order will not prevent the writ petitioner-appellants from applying afresh next year if they are so entitled. The fact that the puja could not be held this year will not be counted against the writ petitioners in the event they are otherwise entitled to obtain the permission.

In view of the above, no purpose would be served in keeping the appeal pending.

FMA 925 of 2020 along with the interim application therein, bearing CAN 1 of 2020, stand disposed of without any prejudice being occasioned to any of the parties.

There will be no order as to costs.

Certified website copies of this order, if applied for, be urgently made available to the parties, upon compliance with the requisite formalities.
