Mr. Sufi Kamal ... for the petitioners Mr. Chandi Charan De, ld. AGP Mr. Anirban Sarkar ... for the State Mr. Pinaki Bhattacharyya ... for the respondent nos. 6 and 7 Land of the petitioners was acquired for being utilized in the Farakka Barrage Project. The petitioners have approached this Court with the grievance that the compensation amount has not yet been paid.

Learned Advocate appearing for Union of India/Farakka Barrage Project submits that the valuation of the land has been received by the concerned authorities but valuation of the structures on the land is yet to be received by the authorities.

Learned Advocate for the State has handed up to me copy of a memo dated December 16, 2020, issued by the Additional District Magistrate (ZP), Malda, addressed to the Executive Engineer, Anti Erosion Division, Farakka Barrage Project, under cover of which the estimated valuation of the structures on the land in question has

been forwarded to the authorities. The said memo has evidently been received by the authorities.

In that view of the matter, since the Barrage authorities have received the valuation of both the land and the structures thereon, the applicable compensation shall be disbursed in favour of the petitioners at an early date and in any event, within eight weeks from date. Learned Advocate representing the Barrage authorities is requested to communicate this order to his clients. Nothing further survives of this writ petition. W.P.A. 8932 of 2020 is, thus, disposed of.
