19.11.2020 (57 KC C.R.M. 8528 of 2020 (Via Video Conference) In Re:- An application for bail under Section 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure in connection with Belgharia Police Station Case No. 960/2017 dated 09.11.2017 under Sections 366A/370/370A/376/109/120B of the Indian Penal Code read with Sections 3/4/5/6/7/9 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.

The advocate-on-record for the petitioner undertakes to affirm and properly stamp the petition as per the rules within forty eight hours of resumption of normal functioning of the court. The petition is taken up through video conference on the basis of such undertaking.

Considering the fact that the charge against the petitioner is very serious of having abetted the offence under Section 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 by indulging in trafficking under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956 and that trial has already commenced and further that the petitioner is in custody for almost three years, we direct that the trial be concluded not later than 31st March, 2021. In default, the petitioner shall have liberty to apply for bail before any appropriate court. CRM 8528 of 2020 is disposed of.
