The petition is taken up through video conference on the basis of such undertaking.

The petitioner claims that the investigating agency has proceeded against the petitioner merely on surmises and the uncorroborated statements of the father of the victim. The State says that the petitioner appears to be the paramour of the victim's wife and there are witness statements to the effect that the petitioner had locked the door from outside and the victim's body was subsequently found inside. The State says that the wife of the victim has been arrested, though the petitioner claims that she has obtained bail. Considering the material against the petitioner, he should surely surrender and subject himself to interrogation. The prayer for anticipatory bail is refused.

CRM 8585 of 2020 is disposed of.
