Mr. Dwapayan Sengupta, Mr. Samrat Dey Paul for the petitioner The petitioner, a retired employee of the United Bank of India, is aggrieved by the inaction on the part of the respondents in not taking steps to consider his application for statutory review, which was filed by him on 5th February 2020.

It appears from records that the application for review filed by the petitioner is dated 5th February 2020 and the same was received by the office of the respondent bank on 6th February 2020. The petitioner thereafter filed several reminders praying for disposal of his application for review. The request of the petitioner fell on deaf ears.

None appears on behalf of the respondent authorities despite service.

As it appears that the application for review is pending consideration at the end of the Reviewing Authority, no useful purpose will be served by keeping the writ petition pending.

The writ petition is accordingly disposed of by directing the concerned respondent(s) to consider and dispose of the application for statutory review filed by the petitioner, strictly in accordance with law, within a period of five weeks from the date of communication of a copy of this order. The Reviewing Authority shall pass a reasoned order and communicate the same to the petitioner immediately thereafter.

W.P.P. 9067 of 2020 is thus disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order be supplied to the parties, if applied for, as early as possible.
