For the State The petitioners undertake to affirm and stamp the petition as per the Rules within one week of resumption of normal functioning of the court. The petition is taken up through video conference on the basis of such undertaking.

The charge is under Section 498A of the Code. The petitioners are the husband and close relatives of the husband. The marriage has lasted more than 20 years.

The petitioners say that pursuant to the notice received under Section 41A of the Code, the petitioners have seen the investigating officer and have responded to the queries raised. Considering the charges and the material produced against the petitioners, the custodial interrogation may not be necessary at this stage.

In the event of arrest, the petitioners will be enlarged on bail upon furnishing security of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) each, with two sureties of like amount each, one of whom must be local, to the satisfaction of the arresting officer. The petitioners will also abide by the conditions laid down in section 438(2) of the Code.
