Mr. Kar, learned advocate appearing for the petitioners submits that the petitioners are in custody for a substantial period of time. In spite of earlier directions of this Court, there had been no progress in the trial and in view thereof, further detention of the petitioners is not warranted.

Mr. Mukherjee, learned public prosecutor appearing for the State submits, upon instruction, that the prosecution has already concluded its argument and next date has been fixed on 26th February, 2021 for argument of the defence. Let the written instruction, as produced, be kept on record.

As there had been a substantial progress in the trial and as the next date is fixed on 26th February, 2021 for argument, we are not inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail at this advanced stage of trial.

However, the learned trial court is directed to pronounce the final verdict as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a

period of two months from the date of communication of this order. With the above observations, the application for bail being CRM No.9004 of 2020, is disposed of.
