Extension of the statutory period of detention was allowed by the Trial Court under Section 36A(4) of the NDPS Act. Hence, the detention of the petitioner cannot be said to be illegal. There are materials connecting the petitioner with dealing in narcotic substances above commercial quantity. Hence, on merits also, we are of the opinion that this is not a fit case to grant bail to the petitioner. The application for bail is, thus, rejected.

Subsequently, connected application being CRAN 1 of 2020 is disposed of.
