The impugned actions of the respondent Land Revenue Officer are under the provisions of the West Bengal Land Reforms Act, 1955. In view of the provisions contained in Section 54 of the aforementioned Act, the remedy of the petitioner, against the actions of the Revenue Officer lies in preferring appeal before the competent authority.

Accordingly, the writ petition being WPA 9387 of 2020 stands dismissed on the ground of lack of jurisdiction.

There shall, however, be no order as to costs. This order shall, however, not stand in the way of the writ petitioner preferring appeal against the alleged inaction on the part of the respondents under the Right to Information Act, 2005.
