Copy of the report dated February 21, 2021, filed by the Superintendent of Police, Hooghly Rural Police District, be kept with the record. A copy of the report has been made over to learned advocate for the petitioner.

We have perused the report. It says that the investigation into the matter is complete and charge-sheet has been issued against several persons. Two persons are absconding and provision has been kept for filing supplementary charge-sheet as and when they are apprehended.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the report has been prepared in a perfunctory manner and further investigation may be necessary. We leave it open to the petitioner to take appropriate action before the

appropriate court, if the petitioner is aggrieved with this report.

We do not see any reason to keep this writ petition pending which was filed for a writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus. We have not expressed anything as regards the correctness or otherwise of the report that has been filed today or as regards the eligibility of the petitioner to pray for such other relief that he may be entitled to in any appropriate jurisdiction in accordance with law.

WPA 9391 of 2020 is, accordingly, disposed of.
