Mr. Krishnendu Bera .....For the petitioner The petitioner filed this writ application complaining of the wrongful refusal by the State respondents to consider his claim for obtaining lease to carry out mining operation at the land mentioned in paragraph 2 of the application.

It is, however, submitted by Mr. Bera, learned counsel that during pendency of this writ petition the concerned respondent has informed the petitioner that his prayer for grant of licence cannot be entertained on the ground of absence of necessary clearance being issued by the competent environmental authority. Admittedly, as of today the petitioner does not hold any valid clearance of the environmental authority.

In view of the above, Mr. Bera submits that leave may be granted to the petitioner to withdraw this application. The writ petition being WPA 9443 of 2020 stands dismissed as not pressed.
