The petition is taken up through video-conference on the basis of such undertaking.

We are told that the bail plea of a co-accused was rejected by this court on 5th November 2020, and that the petitioner is described to be the main accused in the case. Learned Public Prosecutor prays for custodial trial.

In those circumstances, we are not minded to entertain the application for bail.

However, we note that investigation has been completed and charge-sheet submitted.

The prosecution is expected to conduct the case diligently. It is made clear that if any significant progress in the trial is not made by 31st March 2021, then the petitioner will be at liberty to approach this court again for bail.
