The allegation of the petitioners in this Public Interest Litigation is that huge amounts of funds are being misappropriated at the Dhulauri Gram Panchayet, Domkal, Murshidabad.

A representation was made to the Block Development Officer, Domkal being the 8th respondent herein.

It is submitted on behalf of the petitioners that a hearing was held by the 8th respondent on the basis of such representation but he has not passed any order after such hearing and is sitting tight over the matter. This is the essential grievance of the petitioners. Having heard learned Counsel for the parties including Mr. Bandyopadhyay, learned Counsel appearing for the State, we direct the 8th respondent to pass a reasoned order pursuant to the hearing that he has held in respect of the allegations made by the petitioners, within two weeks from the date of receipt

of a copy of this order along with a copy of the writ petition.

In case any of the parties is dissatisfied with the order of the 8th respondent, it will be open to such party to take appropriate steps to challenge the same in accordance with law before the appropriate forum. We have not gone into the merits of the case. It will be upto the 8th respondent to take an informed decision in accordance with law.

Since no affidavits have been called for, none of the allegations in the writ petition shall be deemed to have been admitted by the respondents.
