We have perused the police report regarding identity of the petitioner. It is stated in the police report that Asanur Islam and one Rentu Mondal (named in the FIR) are one and the same person. We have also examined the Vakalatnama which was executed by the petitioner as Asanur Islam. Filing bail application under a different alias, namely Asanur Islam@ Rentu Biswas is a sharp practice adopted by him in order to camouflage his identity as Asanur Islam @ Rentu Mondal.

Accordingly, we are of the opinion that petitioner before us is Asanur Mondal @ Rentu Mondal, son of Anchad Biswas and not Rentu Biswas; a co-accused, who is on regular bail. On merits, in view of the prima facie involvement of the petitioner in the alleged crime and as there are sufficient materials

against him, we are of the opinion that this is not a fit case to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
