None appears on behalf of the Chakdaha Municipality, despite service.

The petitioners pray for water connection in Holding No. 18, Ward No. 10, Chakdaha, Nadia. Pursuant to the application made by the petitioners a quotation was given by the Municipality on 27th March, 2019 for depositing of Rs.4,000/- in the cash section of the Municipality. The petitioners deposited the aforesaid amount on 29th March, 2019 upon proper receipt being issued by the Munnicipality. The petitioners complain that in spite of receipt of the money the Municipality is not effecting the water supply connection.

The petitioners made further representation on 20th August, 2020, which has not been considered by the authority till date.

It appears from record that the Municipality has accepted the money as per their quotation and as such they ought not to sit over the same without effecting water supply connection to the petitioner.

In view of the above, the instant writ petition

is disposed of by directing the Chakdaha Municipality to take necessary steps for effecting water supply connection in the premises of the petitioners, strictly in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of a copy of this order.

WPA 9857 of 2020 stands disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties after completion of all legal formalities.
