The petitioner prays for a direction upon the Chairman, Coal India Limited for disposing of his appeal which was filed on September 5, 2016 against the order passed by the Chairman-cum-Managing Director, South Eastern Coalfields Limited on August 1, 2016. It is a matter of surprise that even though the appeal was filed way back on September 5, 2016 the same has not been disposed of by the Appellate Authority till date.

It is high time that a direction is to be passed upon the Appellate Authority to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner strictly in accordance with law. In view of the above, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent no. 3 being the Chairmancum-Managing Director, Coal India Limited to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner on September 5, 2016

strictly in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of a copy of this order.

The said respondent shall pass a reasoned order and communicate the same to the petitioner immediately thereafter.

WPA No. 9879 of 2020 stands disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for be given to the parties after completion of all legal formalities.
