The writ petitioner is aggrieved by an order dated May 7, 2020 passed against her in disciplinary proceedings instituted by a charge sheet dated 25.03.2019.

The petitioner urges various grounds of perversity in the matter, inter alia, that the disciplinary proceedings were a counter blast to the criminal complaint instituted by her under Section 354 of the Indian Penal Code against the Zonal Manager of the Bank.

Mr. Saptangsu Basu, learned senior counsel appearing for the Indian Overseas Bank submits that the petitioner has an effective alternative remedy in the form of departmental appeal under Rule 76 of the Discipline and Appeal Rules of the Indian Overseas Bank.

Counsel for the petitioner on being queried submits that his client would rather prefer an appeal

first and exhaust the remedy before approaching this Court. Such leave is granted.

The petitioner may approach before the concerned appellate authority within 15 days from date.

With the aforesaid observation, the instant writ petition is disposed of.

There shall be no order as to costs.
