Supplementary affidavit filed in Court today by the writ petitioners is retained with the records. Mr. Mookherjee, learned Advocate General, appears for the respondents and submits that remaining 80% of the arrears on account of dearness allowance (D. A.) has already been disbursed to the members of the Engineers Welfare Forum, being the employees of West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited (n short "WBPDCL"). The entirety of the said amount has been disbursed together.

Mr. Majumder, learned counsel, appearing for the writ petitioners submits that the said amount has been disbursed and prays for interest on the arrears that was due and payable to the writ petitioners and their members.

Considering the submission of the parties, this Court is of the view that justice will be sub-served by allowing interest @ 6% to be paid to the members of the Engineers Welfare Forum between the period July 1, 2016 and December 31, 2019 within 8 weeks from the date of this order.

It is directed that the interest @ 6% will be payable to the writ petitioners and their members on the entire amount of arrears till September 7, 2022 and thereafter on the balance 80% till November 16, 2022.

It is submitted by the learned counsel appearing for the parties that nothing further remains to be adjudicated in WPA 9957 of 2020 as the grievances of the writ petitions have been redressed.

In the circumstances, WPA 9957 of 2020 along with CAN 1 of 2022 is disposed of.

All parties shall act on the server copies of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Hon'ble Court.

Urgent photostat certified copies of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all necessary formalities.
