Mr. Bibek Jyoti Basu Mr. Uttam Kumar De ..for the State The matter on being assigned to this Bench was brought to the list on 30th June, 2023 when the same had to be adjourned as no one appeared either on behalf of the petitioner or the respondents in view of a resolution being taken at the Bar. The matter was directed to appear on 7th July, 2023. On 7th July, 2023 the writ petitioner was represented by Mr. Sukanta Chakraborty and Mr. Anindya Halder, learned advocates.

On that date on the prayer of the petitioner, the matter was again adjourned till 14th July, 2023. Since thereafter the petitioner had remained unrepresented for which the matter had been adjourned from time to time. On 9th February, 2024 an order was passed directing the department to serve a notice upon the writ petitioner at the address as recorded in the cause title as also to serve the learned advocate who had filed vakalatnama on behalf

of the petitioner. As recorded in the lay note prepared by the Assistant Registrar-VIII of this Court dated 7th March, 2024, it appears that the petitioner as also the learned advocate representing the petitioner have received the notice. The petitioner remains unrepresented despite service.

In the aforesaid facts and circumstances, the writ petition is dismissed for default.

Interim order, if any, stands vacated.
