The grievance of the petitioner pertains to correction of Records of Rights. The petitioner alleges that he seeks appropriate interference in respect of the same. Mr. Sengupta, appears on behalf of the State respondents and submits that the writ petition is not maintainable and the petitioner has an adequate, efficacious, alternative remedy under the West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal Act, 1997.

In view of the statutory remedy available to the petitioner, WPA 10170 of 2020 is dismissed as not maintainable.

The petitioner is granted liberty to approach the Tribunal in terms of the aforesaid Act and in accordance with law if so advised.

It is made clear that this Court has not gone into the merits of the case and the Tribunal shall not be

influenced by any observation made in this matter on the merits of the case.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance with all requisite formalities.
