The petitioner's grievance is that, despite an order having been passed by the Sub-Divisional Officer at Baruipur South 24 Parganas on August 20, 2019, inter alia directing the Officer-in-Charge, Baruipur Police Station to see that no physical or mental hurt is caused to the petitioners, the police is not taking effective steps thereon.

Learned counsel for the respondent authorities files a Report in the form of instructions, which indicates merely that the police have taken the complaints on record and in one of those chargesheet has been submitted.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that those do not relate to the present complaint. As such, there does not appear to be sufficient compliance of the order dated August 20, 2019, annexed at page-49 (Annexure- P5 of the present writ petition).

Accordingly, W.P.A 10176 of 2020 is disposed of by directing respondent no.3 to take steps immediately in compliance with the order dated August 20, 2019 passed by the Sub-Divisional Officer, Baruipur (Annexure- P5 at page-49 of the writ petition) and to give adequate police assistance to the petitioner in the event the petitioner approaches the police authorities alleging any contravention of the order dated August 20, 2019 passed by the Sub-Divisional Officer at Baruipur South 24 Parganas in favour of the petitioner.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
