Learned lawyer for the State opposes the prayer for anticipatory bail.

We have examined the statements of witnesses recorded under sections 161/164 Cr.P.C. Petitioners have been named as one of the accused persons who assaulted the victims one of whom succumbed to his injuries.

In view of the gravity of the offence and prima facie involvement of the petitioners therein, we are not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioners.

The application for bail is, thus, rejected.
