Learned lawyer for the State submits that petitioner and other had murdered the housewife.
Statements of witnesses including the dying declaration of the victim disclose primary role of the petitioner in the murder of the housewife. In view of the gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner. The application for bail is, thus, rejected.
Delay in trial is attributable to prevailing pandemic conditions. However, in view of the protracted period of detention suffered by the petitioner, we direct the trial Court to conclude the trial at an early date, preferably within one year from the next date fixed before the said Court without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.
