1. The petitioner has challenged the order passed by the disciplinary authority on January 15, 2020 in this writ petition.
2. Ms. Roy Chowdhury, learned advocate appear for the United Bank of India, which has since been merged with the Punjab National Bank and files the affidavit in opposition. She submits that the petitioner filed an appeal against the order of the disciplinary authority dated January 15, 2020 and the appellate authority has in the meantime, disposed of the appeal thereby affirming the order of disciplinary authority imposing major
punishment of compulsory retirement with superannuation benefits. Since the order passed by the appellate authority has not been challenged in this writ petition, no relief can be granted to the petitioner in this writ petition. However, the petitioner will be at liberty to challenge the order passed by the appellate authority in accordance with law, if so advised.
3. With this above observation, the writ petition stands disposed of.
4. Affidavit-in-opposition filed in Court today be kept with the record.
5. No costs.
6. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be furnished to the parties expeditiously upon compliance of all legal formalities.
