The petitioner submits that there has been a proposal from the Forest Department for providing employment to the next of kin of the deceased in human animal conflict.

The petitioner relies upon a Notification dated 20th November 2020 which shows that the proposal is under active consideration of the Government.

Learned senior counsel representing the State respondents submits that the wife of the petitioner expired in the year 2008 and the petitioner has made application for employment in November 2020. The prayer of the petitioner for providing employment ought not to be considered at such a belated stage.

As it appears that the proposal for providing employment is pending consideration of the Government and the representation of the petitioner made on 12th November 2020 is also pending consideration at the end of the Divisional Forest Officer, Jhargram, no useful purpose will be served by keeping the writ petition pending.

The writ petition is accordingly disposed of by directing the respondent no. 5 to take a decision with regard to the representation made by the petitioner in accordance with the scheme for providing employment to the next of kin of the deceased in human animal conflict.

The said respondent shall take a decision in the matter within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of a copy of this order and shall communicate the reasoned order passed by him to the petitioner immediately thereafter.

WPA 10491 of 2020 stands disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties after completion of all legal formalities.
