The limited grievance of the petitioners is that their representation regarding alleged unauthorized encroachment of a land of the National Highway Authority of India has not been considered till date by the respondent authorities. There is substance in such contention, since the authorities have a legal duty to look into allegations of such encroachment.

Accordingly, W.P.A. 10536 of 2020 is disposed of by directing respondent no.4 to consider and dispose of the representation of the petitioners dated January 14, 2020 (Annexure-P3 at page-22 of the writ petition) as expeditiously as possible, preferably within five weeks from date.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
