Advocate ... ... for the State Heard the learned advocates appearing for both the parties. There are materials on record prima facie disclosing involvement of the petitioner in strangulating his wife. In view of the gravity of the offence and as delay in trial cannot be attributed to the prosecution but was due to prevailing pandemic conditions, we are of the opinion that this is not a fit case to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

The application for bail is thus rejected.

Trial court however, is directed to conclude the trial at an early date preferably within one year from the next date fixed for recording of evidence without granting unnecessary adjournment to either of the parties.
