Statements of the witnesses recorded under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and other materials on record show that the petitioner and others held the victim while a co-accused assaulted the victim. In view of the specific role played by the petitioner in the alleged incident, we are not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. The application for anticipatory bail is, thus, rejected. The parties shall act in terms of the copy of the order downloaded from the official website of this court.
