This is an application under Article 226 of the Constitution of India wherein the writ petitioner is aggrieved by the inaction on the part of the school authorities in forwarding his application for promotion to appear in the M. Sc. Examination and for enhancement in his scale of pay in the event such degree is obtained by him.

None appears on behalf of the school authorities in Court today when the matter is taken up. Accordingly, I draw an adverse inference against the school authorities. State respondent is represented.

In light of the above, school authorities are directed to look into the application made by the petitioner and pass a reasoned order within a period of seven days from the date of communication of this order.

With these observations, WPA 10819 of 2020 is disposed of.

Since, no affidavit-in-opposition has been called for the allegations made in the writ petition are deemed to have not been admitted by the respondents.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all necessary formalities.
