The learned advocate appearing for the petitioner submits that allegedly there were recoveries from the possession of the petitioner and that the trial has already commenced and only four witnesses are left to be examined and the next dates are fixed on 20th February, 2021 and 22nd February, 2021 respectively.
Learned advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail of the petitioner and submits that above commercial quantity of contraband articles are involved in this case.
Considering the stage of the case and as well as the above commercial quantity of contraband involved in this case, the prayer for bail of the petitioner is rejected. However, the learned trial court is directed to expedite the process of trial in view of the fact that only four witnesses are left to be examined. As has been submitted that the next dates being fixed on 20th February, 2021 and 22nd February, 2021, the learned trial court will take steps to fix subsequent dates within a fortnight and thereafter complete the process of examination of four witnesses.
With the aforesaid observations, the application for bail being CRM 10763 of 2020 along with connected application, if any, is, accordingly, disposed of.
