Apprehending arrest in connection with Paikar P.S. Case No. 196 of 2020 dated 13.10.2020 under Section 135(1) of the Electricity Act, the petitioner has filed the present application. The learned advocate appearing for the petitioner undertakes to pay fifty per cent of finally assessed amount of `1,43,099/- within a period of four weeks from date.

Mr. Mitra, learned advocate appearing for the WBSEDCL submits that the total assessment has been `1,43,099/-. In view of the undertaking given by the learned advocate for the petitioner, we direct that, in case, the petitioner appears before the learned special court after paying the said amount within a fortnight thereafter, the learned Special Court would check the genuineness and authenticity of the payment being made and thereafter release the petitioner on bail, in case the petitioner is

ready to furnish a bond of `10,000/- with two sureties of like amount each, one of whom must be local.

In view of the prayer so advanced, the petitioner shall not be arrested till 8th April, 2021.

With the aforesaid observations, the application for bail, being CRM No. 10860 of 2020, is disposed of.
