It has been submitted by the learned Advocate for the petitioner that pursuant to the order dated January 6, 2021, the petitioner has communicated the next date of hearing to the learned Government Pleader, High Court, Calcutta.

Leave is granted to the petitioner to file the affidavit-of-service by January 11, 2020.

In spite of service no one appears for the respondents.

The petitioner claims to have performed the job as a Covid-19 volunteer for the period from 9th April, 2020 till 30th June, 2020. The petitioner says that no remuneration has been paid to the petitioner for the aforesaid period. The petitioner says that he has made a representation to the Superintendent of Police, Midnapore which is appearing at page 11 of the instant writ petition.

The grievance of the petitioner is that in spite of the fact that the said representation has been received by the respondent authority but no decision has been communicated to the petitioner with regard to the

prayer of the petitioner. Since the petitioner has made a representation before the Superintendent of Police, Paschim Medinipur being the respondent No.3 herein, and the same is still pending, the said respondent is directed to consider and dispose of the said representation in accordance with law by passing a reasoned order within a period of six weeks from the date of communication of this order. The said order shall have to be communicated to the petitioner immediately thereafter.

I, however, make it clear that I have not gone into the merits of the claim of the petitioner.

With the above direction, WPA 11223 of 2020 is disposed of.

Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties on priority basis upon compliance of all formalities.
