The grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner, being the widow of a freedom fighter (since deceased), is not getting pension under the Freedom Fighter Pension Scheme of the Government of India.

Learned counsel for the petitioner places reliance on Annexure-P3 at page-21 of the writ petition which is a copy of such representation.

In view of the urgency involved due to the plight of the petitioner, WPA 11408 of 2020 is disposed of by directing the respondents to consider and decide on the representation of the petitioner for family pension under the Freedom Fighter Pension Scheme, annexed at Annexure-P3 at page-21 of the writ petition, as expeditiously as possible but positively within one month from date, and to communicate the decision to the petitioner immediately thereafter.

In the event the petitioner is found eligible for such pension, the respondents shall commence disbursement of the pension to the petitioner as expeditiously thereafter as possible.

There will be no order as to costs.

Urgent photostat copies of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
