-versus- The State of West Bengal In the matter of : An application under Section 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure filed on 22nd December, 2020 in connection with NDPS Case No. 13/2020 arising out of Uttarpara P. S. Case No. 82 of 2020 dated 28-02-2020 under Section 20(b)(ii)(c)/29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 pending before the learned Additional Sessions Judge cum Judge Special Court, Hooghly(In Charge).

Mr. Saswata Gopal Mukherji, PP Mr. Arijit Ganguly ....for the State. The report submitted by the Investigation Officer, Uttarpara P. S. through the learned advocate for the State be kept with the record.

The record so submitted reflects that the Chemical Examiner's report has been received by the Investigating Officer but supplementary chargesheet is yet to be submitted.

It has been submitted that the next date is fixed on 20th January, 2021.

In view of the aforesaid, the Investigating Authorities are directed to submit supplementary chargesheet on the said date before the learned special court. The learned special court on receipt of the same would fix date for consideration of charge after supplying of necessary copies to the accused persons.

As the accused persons are in custody since 28-042020, I direct that reasonable efforts must be taken for taking the trial to its logical conclusion.

With the aforesaid observations, CRR 1882 of 2020 is disposed of.

Urgent Photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties upon compliance of all formalities.
