Ajay Kumar De v. State Of West Bengal And ORS.
(Via Video Conference) 18.01.2021 D/L-17, Ct-1 (AD/CHC) WPA(P) 23 of 2020 Ajay Kumar De Vs.
The State of West Bengal & Ors.
Mr. Sabyasachi Chatterjee Mr. Akashdeep Mukherjee Ms. Debolina Sarkar ... for the petitioner.
Mr. Kishore Dutta, Ld. AG Mr. Sayan Sinha ... for the State.
Mr. Y.J. Dastoor, Ld. ASG Mr. Vipul Kundalia ... for the UOI.
This matter relates to the requirement of management of matters relating to Gangasagar Mela for the current year.
Going by the submissions of the learned Advocate General, learned Additional Solicitor General and learned counsel for the petitioner and on the basis of different earlier orders, all that we need to record is that "all is well that ends well". Nothing more survives for further deliberation in exercise of authority under Article 226 of the Constitution of India by treating this as a Public Interest Litigation. We, hence, dispose of this writ petition.
We also place on record our appreciation for the effective action taken by the all stakeholders in the State Administration on all aspects of the management of the Gangasagar Mela for the current year including the
modality of E-snan. We also record our appreciation for the people at large for the effective cooperation with the State Administration to make the Gangasagar Mela hassle free even in this pandemic time.
