The petitioner prays for appointment on compassionate ground.

The petitioner claims that her elder brother namely Dilip Kumar Singh was a Group-D employee in the Tarakeswar Municipality and the said employee died-in-harness on 24th July, 2016. The employee was a bachelor at the time of his death and the employee was the sole bread earner of the family.

The petitioner applied before the Municipality on 3rd September, praying for providing compassionate appointment to her.

She alleges that her representation praying for compassionate appointment has not been taken up for consideration till date.

Learned advocate appearing for the Municipality does not have any ready instruction in the matter. As it appears that the representation of the petitioner seeking compassionate appointment is pending consideration at the end of the Municipality, accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of by directing the respondent no.

being the Chairman/Administrator, Tarakeswar Municipality to take a decision with regard to the prayer of the petitioner for grant of compassionate appointment strictly in accordance with law, at the earliest, but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of a copy of this order. The said respondent shall pass a reasoned order and communicate the same to the petitioner immediately thereafter.

The writ petition stands disposed of.

Urgent certified photocopy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties expeditiously on compliance of usual legal formalities.
