The petitioner is an advocate practising in this Court. Allegation has been made with regard to the non-payment of the outstanding bills on account of the legal service rendered by the petitioner to the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation.
The petitioner has made a formal demand before the Mayor of the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation by a representation on September 22, 2020 praying for releasing the outstanding
professional bills. The same is yet to be considered by the said respondent.
The learned advocate representing the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation does not have any instruction in the matter.
As it appears that the representation made by the petitioner is pending consideration at the end of the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation, no useful purpose will be served by keeping the writ petition pending.
The same is accordingly disposed of by directing the Commissioner of the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation to consider the representation made by the petitioner on September 22, 2020 and take steps to release the outstanding professional bills of the petitioner, if the same are found to be in order, at the earliest, but positively within a period of six months from the date of communication of a copy of this order. The said respondent shall also intimate the petitioner the details of the bills which according to them are not in order, so that the petitioner may take necessary steps
to cure the defects, if any, in the bills not admitted by the respondents.
WPA 11646 of 2020 stands disposed of.
Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be given to the parties after completion of all legal formalities.
