The present application under Section 438 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 filed at the instance of Urmila Bibi is taken up for hearing and order.

It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that she is the co-sister of the defacto complainant and has a child in her lap. She is innocent.

The State produces the case diary and opposes the prayer of the petitioner. He refers to the statement of the victim and the injury report in the case diary.

It appears that the petitioner, who is the co-sister of the defacto complainant is the principal accused who administered acid on her.

Considering the nature and gravity of the offence, we are not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. The

application for anticipatory bail is, accordingly, rejected. C.R.M. 11216 of 2020 is disposed of.
